Nomagugu "Pinky" Magwaza
An innocent Christian girl who looks up to her religious grandfather, Magwaza Senior. She is obsessed with bringing positive changes to her community, but her father, Ace, wants her to take over as the next leader of the Magwaza criminal empire. She is in a relationship with Bhozi and her heart is shuttered when she discovers that Bhozi is sleeping with her stepmother, Glenda. While still dealing with this, she also discovers that her beloved grandfather was once involved in human trafficking operations.
Biography
Born on April 12, 2000, at Boksburg B.B.H Hospital, she was raised by her grandmother alongside her siblings after losing her mother at a young age. In 2011, social workers intervened and placed her in an orphanage, where she stayed for almost a year.
In 2012, she moved to Vosloorus to live with her aunt and cousins, who had a deep love for music, drama, and dance. Their home, filled with artistic expression, inspired her to explore her own talents. She began participating in theatre productions and attending acting auditions, often excelling, though she couldn’t fully commit to acting while still in school.
After completing her matric, she pursued a two-year short course in IT End User Computing at K. Boneng Company, earning a National Certificate in IT EUC Level 3. With her studies complete, she returned to acting auditions, eventually landing her first role as Pinky Magwaza in Umshikashika under Kasinema Production.
